About the Author
Helen Lowe is an award-winning novelist, poet, interviewer, and blogger, whose first novel, Thornspell (Knopf), was published to critical praise in 2008. Her second, The Heir of Night (The Wall of Night Series, Book One) won the Gemmell Morningstar Award 2012. The sequel, The Gathering of The Lost, was shortlisted for the Gemmell Legend Award in 2013. Helen has a second-dan black belt in the martial art aikido and represented her university at fencing. Great Series, interesting characters, plenty of twists.

I absolutely love this series. THere are definitely some twists and turns that I didn't see. The characters are complex and the story line is fast paced. The magic system in the books is unique. I picked up the first one one and quickly devoured the second, although I had to wait a bit for the third to come out. I would highly recommend the series.

I haven't enjoyed and epic fantasy for years. This is a brilliant series. Well drawn characters, fascinating world build.ing and a twisty plot. My only disappointment is that I though it was a trilogy and it's not. So while I'm disappointed not to see a resolution, I have another book to look forwRd to.
